The Augustana men's soccer team finished the 2016 season with a 4-13-1 overall record and a mark of 0-7-1 in the CCIW. Senior Michael Brazinski (Plainfield East HS, Plainfield, Ill.) earned second team all-conference honors for Coach Mick Regan's Vikings. It was the second year in a row that the forward was selected to the all-league second team.

After starting the season with three straight road losses, Augustana won its home opener 4-0 over Lakeland on September 10. That started a three-week stretch during which the Vikings posted a 4-2-1 record. They won all four of their home matches, including a 2-1 win over Wisconsin-Whitewater on October 1. In an 8-0 pasting of Robert Morris-Springfield on September 24, Brazinski recorded a hat trick and dished out three assists and freshmen Michael Peters (St. Charles East HS, St. Charles, Ill.) and Matthew Allen (Batavia HS, Batavia, Ill.) each scored twice. Augustana dropped its final eight matches to end the season.

Brazinski finished the year as the Vikings' leading scorer with 26 points on 11 goals and four assists. His goal total ranks in the school's top 25 for a single season and his point total ranks just outside Augustana's top 25. He finished his career 11th in school history with 24 goals and 12th with 58 points.

Peters shared the team assist lead with Brazinski and finished second in goals (seven) and points (18). Allen (Batavia HS, Batavia, Ill.) had four goals and an assist for nine points. Rahul Bhatia's (Naperville Central HS, Naperville, Ill.) three assists ranked third on the team.

Sophomore Corey Mankins (Marysville HS, Marysville, Ohio) started every match and played all but 44 minutes in goal. He finished 4-13-1 with a 2.37 goals against average and a save percentage of .672. His 1,594 minutes and 86 saves both rank in Augustana's all-time top 10 for a single season.

Senior Dominick Sullivan (Plainfield East HS, Bolingbrook, Ill.), junior Grant Bracken (Geneva HS, Geneva, Ill.), sophomore Jack McKearnan (Warren HS, Gurnee, Ill.) and freshman Alex Ligeza (Huntley HS, Huntley, Ill.) were season-long starters as well.
