(Pecatonica HS, Rock City, Ill.), who also finished her career as an eight-time CCIW champion.

The Vikings opened the season by winning the four-team Illinois Wesleyan Halloween Invitational on October 26. They followed that up with three straight dual meet victories over Loras (156-83), Lake Forest (148-91) and Morningside (165-69). Johannsen's crew suffered its only dual setback of the season (171-69) at Luther, but defeated Simpson (180-34), also in Decorah, Iowa. Wins over Monmouth (158-78) and Coe (156-72) rounded out the team's dual meet slate.

In addition to its IWU Halloween Invite win, Augustana competed at four more invitationals. The Vikings were second of seven teams at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational on November 23, fifth at Grinnell's 14-team Pioneer Classic on December 6-7, 6th of 10 squads at the Chicago Invitational on January 11 and sixth of 11 teams at the Grinnell Invitational on January 17-18.

On February 8 in Bloomington, Illinois, Myers claimed both the one and three-meter CCIW diving titles for the fourth consecutive year. In doing so, Myers has now posted the top four scores in conference history in the three-meter event and four of the top five scores at one meter. Her efforts helped Augustana move up one spot from the previous year, to fourth at the CCIW Championship. The swimming events were hosted by Carthage the following weekend at Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. Senior Hillary Ferguson (Waubonsie Valley HS, Naperville, Ill.) and freshman Allison Patch (Moline HS, Coal Valley, Ill.) joined Myers as all-conference performers. Ferguson earned All-CCIW recognition with a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle (:53.01) and Patch with a third-place, school-record :58.12 in the 100 backstroke.

Other individual school records set at Pleasant Prairie included Ferguson's 1:56.80 in the 200 freestyle, as well as two each by sophomore Emma Novak (Eden Prairie HS, Eden Prairie, Minn.) and freshman Michelle Johnson (Lockport HS, Homer Glen, Ill.). Novak took down previous standards in the 200 (2:11.17) and 400 (4:42.47) individual medleys, while Johnson set new marks in the 500 (5:13.62) and 1000 (10:44.45) freestyles.

Five Augustana records fell in relays at the CCIW Championship as well—all anchored by Ferguson. In the 200 medley relay, Patch, sophomore Jordan Johnson (Appleton North HS, Appleton, Wis.), Novak and Ferguson set a new mark with a 1:49.70. Patch, junior Jamie Graf (Lincoln-Way Central HS, Downers Grove, Ill.), Novak and Ferguson did the same in the 400 medley relay, finishing in 4:01.49. This year's Vikings set school records in the 200 (1:38.02), 400 (3:36.74) and 800 (7:53.88) freestyle relays also. The 200 and 400 teams consisted of Patch, Novak, Graf and Ferguson; while Novak, Michelle Johnson, Patch and Ferguson made up the 800 unit.

Myers' school records came at the Grinnell Invitational and on Senior Night against Coe at the Carver Pool. At Grinnell, she posted scores of 402.15 at one meter and 428.05 at three meters, setting new marks in the 11-dive championship format. Against Coe, her scores of 248.25 at one meter and 268.35 in the three-meter event bettered the previous school standards in the six-dive dual format.

Eight Vikings placed themselves on Augustana's all-time top-ten best performance lists this year. In addition to the half-dozen individual school swimming records, they include Michelle Johnson's 17:54.09, which is second on the 1650 freestyle list. Patch's bests of 2:10.34 in the 200 backstroke, :24.40 in the 50 freestyle and :54.03 in the 100 freestyle rank second, third and third, respectively. Novak's bests of 2:16.98 in the 200 butterfly, 1:58.34 in the 200 freestyle and 1:01.61 in the 100 butterfly rank third, fourth and fourth, respectively. Freshman Brittney Crawford's (Coal City HS, Coal City, Ill.) best times are fifth on the 200 backstroke (2:17.65), eighth on the 100 backstroke (1:03.24) and ninth on the 200 individual medley (2:18.04) lists. Jordan Johnson ranks fourth on the 100 breaststroke list (1:09.28) and 10th in the 200 breaststroke (2:38.21). Junior Laura Pemberton (Fremont HS, Fremont, Neb.) swam bests of 1:02.19 and 2:27.45 in the 100 and 200 backstrokes to rank fifth and eighth on those respective lists. Senior Erin Doty's (Oswego HS, Oswego, Ill.) 19:03.65 ranks as the 10th-fastest 1650 freestyle best in school history.
