Kylie Siebert (Kaneland HS, Sugar Grove, Ill.) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District volleyball team, it was announced today. Siebert, a three-year starter at libero, was a second team selection in District Seven, which includes the states of Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. The Capital One Academic All-America program is administered by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Siebert started all 33 matches for the Vikings in 2014 and helped the team to a 24-9 overall record and a 3-4 mark in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin. She finished the season with a team-high 591 digs in 114 games for an average of 5.18 digs per set. That average is the fifth highest total in Augustana history and her mark of 5.30 in 2013 is fourth. This past year she also had 32 service aces and 102 setting assists. Her best match in the digs department came on September 24 in a 3-2 victory over Illinois Wesleyan at home when she totaled 41 digs. That is the ninth highest single season match total in school history.
She was selected as the "Defensive Player of the Week" in the CCIW once this past season. During her career she has accumulated 1,633 digs and currently ranks second on the school's all-time list, just 17 shy of the school record of 1,650 compiled by Callyn Dittmar from 2000-03. She also has 99 career service aces.
Siebert was the Vikings' Most Valuable Player following the 2013 season and she has led the team in digs each of her first three years. She averaged 4.44 in 2012 as a freshman and then had 5.30 in 2013 as a sophomore and came back at 5.18 this past season. She was a third-team all-conference selection in the CCIW following the 2013 campaign. She led the CCIW in digs as a sophomore and was fifth as a freshman. She tied for second in the league this year in digs.
The daughter of Trent and Dawn Siebert of Sugar Grove, Illinois, Kylie has a 3.77 grade point average with a major in business administration & marketing and a minor in mass media/journalism & communication.
