NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Consecutive pins at 174 and 184 pounds helped propel 30^th ranked Augustana to a 24-18 victory over North Central on Tuesday, January 7 in Naperville, Illinois. The Vikings, now 10-3 on the season, roared back from a 15-6 deficit with wins in four of the final five weight classes.
 
The two most critical matches of the night, however, were at 174 and 184 where senior Jordan Richardson (Grandville HS, Wyoming, Mich.) and junior Thomas Reyhons (Davenport Assumption HS, Davenport, Iowa) each won by the fall.
 
Junior Connor Cummings (Downers Grove North HS, Woodridge, Ill.) had just picked up an 11-5 win over Alex Vosburgh at 165 pounds to narrow the deficit to 15-9. Richardson then pinned Eric Kirkman at 3:40 in the 174 pound weight class to move to 13-6 on the year and Reyhons won by fall at 6:16 against Vincent Pizzo at 184 pounds. Reyhons upped his mark to 20-4 on the year. The pins by Richardson and Reyhons put Augustana in the lead 21-15.
 
After a loss at 197 pounds made the score 21-18 in favor of the Vikings, junior John Schraidt (Riverside-Brookfield HS, Riverside, Ill.) sealed the match for the visitors by beating Dylan Mahler of North Central 3-1. Schraidt is now 18-8 for the season.
 
North Central got off to a good start with victories in four of the first five weight classes to jump in front 15-6 after the 157 pound weight class. The only Augustana win in the early going came at 141 pounds where sophomore Isaiah Schaub (St. Francis HS, Traverse City, Mich.) ran his record to 22-5 with a pin at 3:42 against Andrew Rodawold.
